Securus, LLC was formed in 2016 and is based in Saratoga Springs, NY. Together, they have more than 50 years experience in Health, Safety, Environmental, Security, and Quality (HSESQ), across diverse market segments.  This vision of Securus is one that provides the core services of HSESQ, while integrating the risk based principles of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) into an organization’s existing systems.

Securus, LLC services a diverse client base that includes chemical and industrial manufacturing, oilfield, academic research, insurance, and the retail and service based markets.

Our firm’s global cross cultural experience provides a unique perspective to problem solving by understanding the needs and challenges organizations continually face from both the regulatory environment and the behaviors that are created and influenced by culture. Meet the Team

Walter Peters

Principal and CFO

Mr. Peters has worked for over 25 years in the field of Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality. He started his career in the steel and hazardous waste treatment and storage industries before spending 10 years at General Electric and the past 10 years with a global privately held chemical company.  He has extensive regulatory knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety, Process Safety, Environmental Compliance, Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001/45001), Supply Chain Management and Product Stewardship/Product Safety.  Mr. Peters is an industry leader in the implementation of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) in the Chemical Industry, has presented at several industry conferences and has successfully performed HOP training across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. He is active in the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and served on the ACC Responsible Care voting committee that was instrumental in the revision of the RC14001/ISO14001 Technical Standard and the Product Safety Code. Mr. Peters received his degree in liberal arts from the Sage Colleges in Albany, NY.

Mark Strife

Principal and CEO

Mr. Strife has worked (30) years in Occupational Safety and Health in various fields and has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and oil & gas industries. He has assisted in developing and implementing comprehensive EHSSQ management systems across a global organization, and is a leader in the implementation of Human and Organizational Performance within industrial settings. Other specialty areas include industrial hygiene and workplace employee exposure, indoor air quality (IAQ) assessment and control including microbiological agents, and asbestos and lead remediation oversight. He has also served as an expert witness in regarding worker exposure and occupational disease.  Mr. Strife received his degree from Syracuse University, and holds accreditations as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
